The World Cup is an international men's football tournament held every four years between national teams of member associations, and will celebrate its 22nd edition in 2022. Dates are set from 21 November 2022 to he 18 December 2022 in Qatar. The World Cup will be held for the first time in the Arab world. This is the second World Cup to be held only in Asia, following Korea and Japan in 2002. And finally, there will be 32 teams participating in the tournament. The 2026 tournaments in the US, Mexico and Canada will instead feature 48 teams. France is the current world champion. Because of the sweltering heat of Qatar's summer.
