What if your favorite novel was a social network?
Flöwan is like being inside a novel -- actually several novels. The stories play out over a social network in real time but you don't just read them. You join the social network used by fictional characters to share the pits and peaks of their lives.
You take part in the ongoing stories by giving advice, expressing your opinion, and buying gifts for the characters.
Follow one or more of four stories with dozens of characters, people you'd enjoy being friends with in real life, including some who push beyond the borders of reality. When you participate, you can affect the characters' futures!
Other real people will be participating at the same time and everyone will be involved in:
• Friending and following the characters
• Reading and posting on their boards
• Voting in their polls
• Lurking on their chatrooms
• Checking out their profiles and journals
• Catching their media for music and memes
• Entering their caption contests
• Earning virtual currency by participation
• Buying virtual gifts for yourself and for characters
• Creating your own profile and avatar
• Keeping up on other real people's profiles, comments and votes
Although stories play out in real time, each story does not begin for you until you start following it, and you can "pause" your progress in the story by unfollowing it.
